A Wicked Awesome Weekend

Updated: Jan 20, 2019

Impromptu girls trip to Boston after years of promising to visit and never following through.

My friend Daniela moved to Boston after high school to attend Northeastern University and finally, after six years of her being there, I got on a plane and headed east. Shoutout to my favorite airline, Southwest (sponsor me please?) for expanding their business beyond just the south west.

We spent lunch hour 35,000 feet above ground, so our first stop after touch down was obviously for food. Becca and I found this little pizza joint, The Salty Pig. We had the Funghi pizza and a couple beers while we waited for D to get off work.

I love how almost all of Boston is completely accessible by foot, we hardly drove anywhere which allowed for us to take in all the beauty and history that we otherwise would’ve missed.

After making what seemed like the hardest brunch decision of my life at Gather (how are you supposed to pick between a lobster roll and a french toast sandwich?!) we walked around the Boston harbor, stopping to regain warmth at cute boutiques. There I bought my first piece of Kendra Scott jewelry (which was probably a mistake) because now I’m hooked.

I saw Fenway park, experienced my first Southeast Asian meal at Tiger Mama (no photo evidence though because lighting was not ideal), had a photoshoot in a park I don't remember the name of and went on the Freedom Trail Walking tour. Final dinner was at The Gallows where we shared house poutine and I ate the most amazing scallops.

It was so nice to spend a long weekend exploring a new city with my best girlfriends.

I can see why so many people are tempted to move to Boston; well aside from all the snow and the law banning happy hours.
