B is for Barroluco

I truly hit the jackpot with Barroluco. It was part of Restaurant Week (hello, 3 course meal for $15), it’s the second restaurant in my A to Z challenge and I’m traveling to Argentina in just 2 short weeks!

Next up in the A to Z challenge: Barroluco.

I had seen Instagram posts of their food truck and their super cute empanadas with Barroluco/Columbus branding, so when Jack suggested it for the letter B, I was sold. The brick and mortar location is downtown and admittedly, I don’t explore the area as much as I would like. It’s a little hole in the wall joint and I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was starving and ready to eat.

For restaurant week, Barroluco offered your choice of an empanada, a sampler entree and churros for just $15.

Included in the sampler was paella, an empanada, pork ribs and loaded fries.

And the best part is the sampler is available on their regular menu too! You can also pick between dulce de leche, chocolate and nutella drizzle on the churros. Service was great and even though there was a full house, our food came out quickly and hot.

It’s a small, cozy space with welcoming staff! They explained the fast casual concept: order at the counter, get a number and someone will bring your food right out! From the counter you can watch them preparing meals.

Going during Restaurant Week gave me a chance to sample items I may not have otherwise tried. I also feel much more confident that I won’t go hungry during my upcoming trip to Buenos Aires (not that I was really worried). And, as if I wasn’t already convinced, they hooked us up with BOGO coupons, so you know I’ll be back.

Now, moving right along to C!
